Over the years I've seen a growing trend of people sleeping rough in small towns that derive most of thier revenue from the all conquering tourist dollar.
The question I ask myself is where does my often over-inflated payments go to? Personally I prefer local operators - be it tours, excursions, dining, accommodation etc, rather than adding to corporate dividends or government greed.
