TRIP MILEAGE – 4,115 miles or 6,622 kilometres
Unbeknown to us, today was probably one of the biggest days for taking in brilliant landscapes and scenery for the entire trip.
Our morning started off with a Fox & Franz Heliservice's 40 minute Grand Tour helicopter ride out to the world renowned Fox and Franz Josef glaciers. The flight included both New Zealand's highest - Aoraki/Mount Cook, and second highest - Mount Tasman mountains, as well as the countries longest glacier - Tasman.
After fuelling up, we headed down the West Coast, stopping on Lake Wanaka who's view also included a couple of nude bathers whose vocabulary didn't seem to extend to modesty or shy. After a pretty forgettable lunch at the Fantail Cafe in the drive-by town of Haast, we skirted down Lake Hāwea's foreshore and pulled up in Arrowtown for a bit of a wander around.
We located our Air B&B on the main drag into Queenstown and as we pulled up, I struck up a conversation with who we thought the cleaning lady. I opened with saying G'day, asking her how she was going and received “fucking knackered” as the reply - well ... that's a bit full frontal I thought to myself. 
Turns out "Pinky" is not only the actual owner of the place, but also has a Harley trike, Suzuki Hayabusa and a 1929 Model A Ford roadster hot rod in the adjacent shed, as well as owing the local Bobs Weigh Cafe - yup ..... we're going to get along like a house on fire.
After getting all squared away, four of us wandered down to the Pub On Wharf for dinner, while Josie stayed back as she was feeling a bit crook.
