Palmview is although a historically rural area, it is becoming increasingly suburban, but is famous for a pub.

• The Ettamogah Pub is a cartoon pub, created by cartoonist Ken Maynard, that was featured in the now defunct Australasian Post magazine.
• It was opened in 1989 by then Premier Mike Ahern. Construction took nine months and it cost $4.5 million.
