1 Can't stress enought the need to document and scratches/dings/faults with rental cars when picking them up.
With the advent of camera phones, I go over every rental and photograph everything as it has saved me numerous times over the years, even when I point out a defect and the attendents say "that's fine - it's within our wear & tear policy".
