As you can see, this swing off has been non-stop action with me getting around to splashing on some colour on the new addition.
A big shoutout to Sonia, the Ginga Ninja, for helping out with the taping and preparation work - you're a Champ darl. |
I decided on a two tone paint scheme for the house, the upper will be a medium tan and the lower is the colour you see. |
All the trim (or architrave as they call it here) will be a gloss white, which will offset the colours nicely. |
Trim is trim - not architrave. When have you ever heard a fella comment on a shiela "That's a nice bit of architrave"???
NEVER!!! |
I ditched the original idea of a solid core wood door, for a aluminium and Cathedral glass door. |
With only two existing windows, the glass door lets in heaps of light, which will make the space seem more open and brighter. |
The 6.5 millimeter thick Cathedral glass is an opaque glass, that allows some privacy, and is laminated for safety & security. |
As you can see, the entire interior is undercoated in white. |
I made a test panel for paint samples, in the vanity area. This is the one I picked first time round and will be going with it. |
The paint color picks up some colour from the floor tiles, so should fit in well. The aim was to brigten up the area. |
As you can obviously tell, painting over white undercoat will take more than one application of the finish colour. |
>When they built the place, do you think it was too much to ask for them to centre the f@#%ing window??? |
Down the entrance to the built-in 3 door wardrobe. |
Should be plenty of drawer, shelving and hanging space I reckon. |
Next swing off, it'll be time for the final coat of ceiling paint before doing the walls and trim. |
Notice the built in computer desk???? |
If you look above the computer desk, you will see the alcove for the recessed wall mounted TV hanger. |
Not too worried about painting over the desk as I'm installing Cork tiles for something differant. |
