My 2 bags for the next month overseas were packed, stacked & racked into the cargo hold of Qantas flight QF971. To say I was looking forward to having nearly a month off was a huge understatement - bring it on I say.
We departed Townsville at around 11:35 AM and got into Sydney around 4:00 PM, so it was only a short ½ hour wait, before meeting up with a fair chunk fo my fellow Alice Springs Dingoes, who were winging thier way in from the centre of the country.
By 5:30PM, we were all settled in at the Rydges Sydney Airport Hotel and by 6PM, the first adult beverages of the trip were being imbibed upon.
Now that's the best way to start any trip I reckon.
