TRIP MILEAGE – 1726 miles or 2778 kilometres

The third day of the 18th World Golden Oldies Rugby Festival.

As today was a bit of a rest day, Yvonne and Jungle had managed to get on the 9:30AM Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb, so they trundled off and left Batesy and myself to explore a bit of the city ourselves. We headed over to the Rugby Club which has a huge collection of rugby memorabilia. We spent several hours there, taking it all in, before heading over to Circular Quay for a butchers hook at the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House.

Just as it happens, we decided to head over and try and catch Jungle and Yvonne to grab a bite to eat only to arrive at the exact time as they finished. We trundled over to Darling Harbour to stop the worms from biting.

All in all, Batesy and I walked 10 kilometres and little did we know it, but all that mileage was going to catch up with us tomorrow.

As part of the Festival activities, we all decided to go on the Sydney Harbour dinner cruise with the Captain Cook Cruises. What a beautiful night to go out on MV Sydney 2000. As luck would have it, we were seated up the very front of the boat, on the upper deck in the Sirius Saloon. While the cruise was magnificent, the same could not be said for the food, which was ordinary to say the least. Ah well, you can't win em all.

While getting off the boat, we noticed several Water Police officers on the vessel and Ambo's wheeling a stretcher down the gangplank. Some poor buggar had a heart attack on the boat. We heard a couple of days later that he was OK. Talk about putting a dampner on your holiday.
