Heading back up the road!!!
To say Dash and I had a late night on the White Russians, would have to be the understatement of the century. We put a fair old dent into a couple of 40 pounders (fourty ounce bottles) of Stolichnaya vodka and Kahlúa over the duration of the evening. I think Dash shuffled off to bed around midnight, but I had a bad case of the "no sleepies" and couldn't get to sleep until around 4:30AM.
I think I ended up with about 3 hours in the fart sack, checking out the back of my eyelids for holes, before I thought I'd better head on up the road back to Dallas (Texas, USA). I jumped online to reserve a enclosed trailer to transport my Harley back to Boise (Idaho, USA) and found a real weird anomaly.
U–Haul is the only real company that rents trailers, for interstate or cross country travel here in the U.S. So I jumped online and got a price of $564.00 plus tax, insurance and fees to drag a 6x12 trailer the 1765 miles (2840 kilometres) from Dallas (Texas, USA) to Boise (Idaho, USA). For giggles, I checked to see what the cost would be from Austin (Texas, USA) instead of Dallas (USA, Texas). All up, that was $261.00 including tax, insurance and fees was the total cost. Who would have thought it cost half the price by travelling an extra 236 miles (380 kilometres)???
I got back into Dallas (Texas, USA) around 5PM and loaded the Harley and set about packing my gear for an imminent departure.
Look out Boise, here I come.
