It's Saturday - time to play!!!

After a great feed of ribs on the back porch of Jungle's place, Jungle, Yvonne (Jungle's better half) and myself decided to retire inside for the evening as we were planning an early start for re-roofing Yvonne's house.

I was up at 5:30AM and got busy with updating the web site but simply can't get an internet connection. What's up with that.

After a quick breakfast it was off over to Yvonne's to get stuck in on the tear off of her old roofing material. Alex "Dancing Bear" joins us and not long after that the old roof was gone and it was time for shingling. We ran into a few snags mainly with materials from the vendor and a compressor that simply died.

Around 4:30PM we had to call it a day - the shingles had heated up so much from the sun. Not to mention that the ambient heat of sitting on the roof, meant that you could nearly put your fingers through them, just by picking them up. I'm glad it wasn't just me, everyone commented that it was an unusually hot day for this time of day.

Hear am I thinking that Canada wouldn't take the chill off your beer and it's ends up being hotter that a bride on her wedding night. The maximum for the day was 32°C (90°F) but being on that roof all day, made it seem a lot hotter.

We had to scoot on down to the auto parts store for an idler pulley assembly for the Man Pad, a quick detour to the pub for some fluid replenishment and it was back to Yvonne's for a feed and a few beers.

I can tell you that it wouldn't take much rocking when my head hit the pillow. Tomorrow looks to be the same 32°C (90°F), so an early start should see us get the roof all Mickey duck.
