In their infinite wisdom, my employer had mandated that all team members must take Annual Leave over the Christmas/New Year period. The powers that be obviously forgot that we are an "A Leading Supplier of Next Generation IT, Cloud and telecommunications services to the Australian market" and that the Christmas break is an opportune time to undertake projects or major remedial tasks with minimal impact on the operational environment.
Aside from the fact that I'd like the opportunity to take my annual leave when it suits me - operational planning notwithstanding, I begrudgingly thought about what I wanted to do during this time off.
Only a few weeks ago, I was down in Melbourne and caught up with a couple of mates from the "African Adventures" trip last year, namely "Karlie Schmidt", "Kalindi Gibson" and her husband "Ashley Gibson". Unfortunately Ash was overseas on a work trip, but during a Facetime chat session with us, we hatched the plan to go to the "Boxing Day Test", which just so happens to feature the Poms and the Aussies, at the world renowned "MCG".
I got the vehicle and portable fridge serviced, tyres rotated, indicator fluids replaced, the twin overhead reverse-cam door handles polished and I was off like a herd of turtles in this general direction - More Miles Than Santa Road Trip Map.
Lets see what kind of mishchief I can get up to.
