Greetings & Salutations,

It'd be an understatement if such a trip like my 2016 African Adventures wasn't described as a fair undertaking, not only logistically, but also physically and mentally.

All up I was on the road for the best part of 65 days and am so fortunate to have spent quality time with some brilliant people, who were not only fellow travellers, but also the majority of the Nomad Africa Adventure Tours team members, but also a lot of the locals who were both interested in me and my Australian background.

That's not to say that some interactions with certain individuals or activities were trying to say the least, but at the end of the day if you let it affect you, then you're the only one who's going to be disappointed.

Highlights for me was celebrating my 50th just the other side of woop-woop, it was Etotongwe Lodge in Namibia actually - but you get the picture, receiving phone calls on Christmas Day in the middle Serengeti National Park, all the amazing wildlife and the colours of the Sahara Desert. There were simply way too many highlights, but isn't that why we travel???

In the end, here's a couple of statistics on the trip:

    65 days on the road
38,797 miles or 62,438 kilometres travelled
    11 countries visited
    9 airline flights
    7 boat rides
3 Nomad Africa Adventure tour vehicle break downs on the first day
    2 camel rides
    1 island stay
1 medical emergency for fellow traveller
1 Emergency Room visit for me
5,205 photos uploaded to my website
811 web pages in 175 folders created & uploaded to my website
Thousands of laughs, smiles & great memories enjoyed

I ended up with a free airfare at the end of this trip, so the planning has started again.
