DAY 18

Week 3

SOMERS BAY (Montana, USA)

Saturday July 8th, 2006
TODAYS MILEAGE – 0 miles or kilometres
TRIP MILEAGE – 1783 miles or 2870 kilometres

Another day of rest .....

I really didn't accomplish much other than taking a look around Kallispell (Montana).

Gump and his family have decided to head out tomorrow, so I took it upon myself to make dinner. Nothing too flash mind you, just some red snapper filets with roasted red pepper sauce and a salad prepared by the girls. Some good wine, great company and a good time was had by all.

Everyone was kind of mellowing out, which was a good time to make my leave and let them have some family time on the last evening. I settled in at the Man Pad cinema, with a beer or two. Gump comes over and we crank up Medal Of Honor on the XBox. Needless to say that Gump would do a lot better with a fews live fire exercises!!!! Be Happy

Anyway, I'm off to Glacier National Park in the morning, but scroll down for some comments from my gracious hosts.

Be good!!

It's been good spending some time with Fitzy, for one last hurrah before he heads into the dangerous underbelly of middle America.

Although he is into photography, cooking, has red hair and a goatee and wears colourful spandex, I'm pretty sure he's not gay.

Fitzy, you're a true mate (Australian sense) and I'll see you again, perhaps on that desert island you call a continent. I'll sail there one fine day soon.

You've been a handy fellow on and off the pitch.

Best of luck until we meet again.

It's been a wonderful week. We've had a few storms, but for the most part it's been unusually sunny weather for early July.

Luckily when it did storm, we were far away in waterpark land while Pete and Fitzy were here to be pummeled about by the boats at the dock!

I think I can speak for all present when I say that having a mouthy Australian around has been a vacation bonus - especially one that can cook and take care of the kiddos while, say, mom and dad are away having some stitches installed in a foot!

Cheers.

From the land of purple mountain majesty: Flathead Lake in NW Montana.it's been a beautiful week with good weather and fun friends & family!

The 4th of July was a spectacular show with fireworks and showy displays everywhere you looked. They really get into it up here!

Great to meet you Fitzy.and as Zan said...GREAT COOK!!! Love the photos and the help with all that was going on.

I'll always remember the waves washing over your shoulders as you were trying to get the Hobbi Cat off the rocks on the beach. So much for water in the ears, eh!!!

Take care, wherever the road may lead you.
