1 To call Wychitella a "one horse town" would be both generous and a stretch. It's one of those small country towns consisting of a couple of houses and a pub - where you'd meet the entire population with a couple of handshakes in the Public Bar.
If it wasn't for Karlie's parentals meeting up with a few of thier mates for a pre-Christmas gathering, I'd have no idea as to where Wychitella was located, let alone find it on a map.
2 We made the 40 mile (64 kilometre) drive out to the Wychitella Railway Hotel for feed in the pubs "dining room" ...... plastic patio furniture, mix-matched cutlery and all. Pay no attention to the decor or table settings, the t-bone steak I had was awesome.
I had a ball, just hanging out an chatting with all and sundry, no matter if it was scrounging around a seemingly abandoned house, or propped up at the public bar or on the bench on the main street with a beer in one hand and performing the Aussie salute with the other. For mind, I was in a happy place.
