1 First job in the kitchen remodel was to punch a hole though the dining room wall to allow acces to the basement and the garage.
2 This had to be done as I was closing in the previous entrance, so that I can position the fridge in that spot, which then allows for more cupbaord space.
3 The entranceway is roughed in.
4 I also had to frame in a solid stoop/stair tread and hide the electrical wire in the door jamb.
5 I had to rout out a channel down the stud for an existing electrical outlet.
6 Notice the garage door handle is on the right hand side.
7 Now it's on the left. I had to remove and refit the garage door for ease of access.
8 Here's then new doorway all trimmed out and waiting for a coat of jam. Pretty neat huh!!!!
9 The trim's done and a new red oak stoop/stair tread is installed.
