As a group, we were able to check into our five separate casa’s for the night, with Derek, Christoph and myself staying at Casa Thay, a short 15 minute walk from the centre of town.
It was a bit of fun humping your bags up two narrow flights of stairs to your room, but ascending the final set of stairs to the rooftop patio allows you great views out over Santiago de Cuba.
Beers in hand, great company and a brilliant sunset - what more could you want?
