Our second match of the festival was against a combined team consisting of the Spanish side Associació Veterans Rugby Barcelona and The Gaucho's from Argentina.
Australian Wallabies legend - Stephen 'Larko' Larkham lobbed up with the intention of having a run with us for one of the three 20 minute period the matches last for and ended up playing the entire match.
Late in the match, I was bridging over 'Larko', protecting him at the bottom of a ruck when I copped a stray knee to the ribs, which pretty much ended my game.
I have to say that at age 44 'Larko' has still got it - he just oozes skill and ability, seemingly having all the time in the world. He’s a great down to earth bloke who was enjoying running around having a giggle with us old “never-beens”.
