The Basílica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família (Basilica and Expiatory Church of the Holy Family) or simply "La Sagrada Família" is the largest unfinished Roman Catholic church and the last works designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí.
In 1882, construction of Sagrada Família started under architect Francisco Paula de Villar, who resigned in 1883. Gaudí took over as chief architect and then devoted the remainder of his life to the project. At the time of his death at age 73 in 1926, less than a quarter of the project was complete. It is anticipated that the building could be completed by 2026 - the centenary of Gaudí's death.
I have to say, it's one hell of an impressive building that amazingly, is also relying solely on private donations and visitor ticket purchases for completion.
