DAY 10
Week 2
MELBOURNE (Victoria, AUS) to METFORD (New South Wales, AUS)
Thursday December 28th, 2017
TODAYS MILEAGE – 669 miles or 1,077 kilometres
TRIP MILEAGE – 2,570 miles or 4,136 kilometres
I was up bright and early, got the ute packed and was on the road before 7AM, to get Karlie to the airport for her 1700 mile (2700 kilometre) "flight to Perth". While pulling into "Tullamarine Airport" I get a phone call from one of my best mates "Rab", to ask if I was still headed north and if so, do I want a hitch-hiker - "Harry Stubbins"?
Even though it added an hour to the days trip, I had no issues in returning to the city and collecting 'Uncle Arthur' from the city. Harry was happy to be dropped off at "Sydney's Central Station", but navigating Australia's largest city is not anyone's idea of a relaxed holiday drive, so we agreed to drop him off at "Morisset Station", about 70 miles (113 kilometres) north of Sydney, for one of his mates to drive him the final 13 miles (22 kilometres) home to Chain Valley Bay.
I kept heading north and in doing so, got hold of another good mate of mine - "Wazza" and as he was only 31 miles (50 kilometres) up the road, I accepted his generous offer and parked up at his place in "Metford" for the night.
Admittedly, although it was a relatively short mileage day, it turned out to be a 14 hour day on the road, but it didn't hinder Wazza and I having a good 'yarn' and catching up over the next couple of hours.
