18th WORLD GOLDEN OLDIES RUGBY FESTIVAL ~ Day 5

Wednesday September 29th, 2010

TODAYS MILEAGE – 138 miles or 222 kilometres
TRIP MILEAGE – 1879 miles or 3024 kilometres

Today was the Golden Oldies Activity Day which consisted of a trip to the Hunter Valley for a winery tour, BBQ and entertainment. Jungle, Yvonne and myself had opted out of this in favour of jumping in the ute and heading West out of Sydney, to check out the Katoomba area, which included the The Three Sisters and the Wentworth Falls Lookout – great scenery to say the least.

Batesy had managed to score tickets to the Channel Nine Rugby League Footy Show Grand Finalé telecast on the steps of the Sydney Opera House. Talk about packed to the rafters.

As we walked in, I was worried about being refused entry, but to my surprise, the female security person said I should have got a Media Pass as she checked my camera bag. I said the gear was my for my own personal use, she says "wow" and then waves me on through.

I aslo managed to grab some great night shots of the harbour, the bridge and the opera house with my new Canon EOS 5D MKII camera body.
