Today was a "Slack Attack" kind a day.

Today was a bit of a recon day as we had no plans, nor any prep for that matter, in going over to Fraser Island, the world's largest sand island. I also wanted to track down a couple of mates of mine, Bruce "Boura" & Mick "Mickluck" Goodluck, a couple of Alice Springs boys I played a lot of rugby with over the years.

After working out that it would cost $150.00 for the vehicle ferry ride, $125.00 for accommodation, $39.45 vehicle access permit, plus the associated costs of washing all the salt water and sand out of my ute, it was decided that it would be best to do a day tour.

We were fortunate to run into the manager of the Hervey Bay Boat Club Marina who gave us the skinny on getting around. We were soon booked on the Fraser Island Explorer for $165.00 per person including lunch.

After wondering around Hervey Bay, taking in the sights, we parked up at the Torquay Hotel for a couple of sherbets with Boura and Mickluck. The evening concluded with a BBQ down on the beach with Doug, Denise and their families.
