DAY 13d
YOUGHAL (County Cork, IRL)
Wednesday September 10th, 2008
TODAYS MILEAGE – 151 miles or 243 kilometres
TRIP MILEAGE – 12291 miles or 19780 kilometres
Youghal has been described as the Irish Mediterranean, and after being on "the" Mediterranean, I really can’t see the comparison.
This was especially prevalent considering I had come down with something, other than my previously mentioned "man thrush". My body temperature was through the roof, my eyes were red raw and watering, plus I kept feeling like I wanted to nod off while behind the wheel – not good!!!
We all pulled into Youghal and eventually found our accommodations, as they took a bit of finding, but the Leahy’s Lee House Bed & Breakfast (on the main street no less), then unpacked all & sundry before heading out to dinner.
I was that crook, I took two bites of my meal and simply handed my wallet to Jungle and headed for the door of the restaurant in search of a hot shower and my bed.
Now, those of you who know me well, know that I’m real good on the fang, real handy on the drink and if I’m ever crook then it’s legit.
I ended up walking back to the B&B, took a scalding hot 30 minute shower and then climbed into bed with three rugby jersey’s, two pairs of tracksuit pants, a woollen sweatshirt, and all of the spare blankets I could find in the room.
What will tomorrow bring???
