Off to tha gee–gees!!! 
There is only one day like today. It's the first Tuesday in November and the 145th running of the Melbourne Cup – the race that stops a nation.
I rocked up to Cluden Park, which is the home of the Townsville Turf Club, for an afternoon of the fun and festivities of Cup Day with one of my best mates Rab and his bride Lisa.
Needless to say, there were plenty of fillies to catch the eye ..... and the horse flesh wasn't bad either.
Due to my incessant re–hydration efforts of the afternoon, I promise I'll comment on the 16th World Golden Oldies Rugby Festival.
