The day of reckoning!!!
Today was always going to be all about taking it easy while floating around sorting out some stuff that needs my attention. Who would have thought taking 6 months off would be so much work???
First stop was to see the big fella JR and his bride Chicken Lips at there car yard over on Chinden. This also just so happens to be where the Man Pad is parked up. We had a bit of a natter before I had to meet the 4 Lost Causes of the Apocalypse for lunch.
The 4 Lost Causes of the Apocalypse are bunch of good guys I used to hang with when I supported the Systems Integration Group (SIG) at my previous employer Micron Technology Inc. Doug "In My Masters" Chambers is a fella that I'm proud to call a mate and good fun for a weaponhead Engineer. Pauly "Long Haired Friend Of Jesus" Paul is just traveling the Happy Go Lucky Highway of life as not a lot stresses him other than my farting. Billy "The Kid" is a fella that were not sure what he does, but he does it really well. Last but not least, we have Reed "I'm The Local" Jochum who is a deadset drongo, which has more to do with his cube mate Rob "I'm Too Sexy or is it I'm Sexy Too" Cohen, but we love his Yul Brunner arse any way.
Dining at my favorite authentic Mexican joint in Boise, El Pueblo Meat Market is always fun, especially when you have a couple of virgins like Reed and Bill on the tow. I'm thinking Reed was most affected as he was sweating like Michael Jackson at pre-school play lunch. At least Reed will know when he's hungry – his arsehole will stop burning.
I got back to Jax & Picture Boy's in order to help out with moving in some new furniture they had snaffled, but it hadn't arrived. Seeing as it was a glorious sun filled day, I decided to take my Harley for a spin. Never mind the thermometer only reaching 42°F (5.5°C) for the day, I bundled up and had a great ride, eventually ending up at another couple of great mates of mine, Casey & Dennis, at their business Scooterville.
Unfortunately, the mercury had plummeted for the ride home and boy did Mother Nature let me know it. Luckily it was only a 5 mile ride and quite refreshing in an Arctic blast kind of way.
A wee dram of Scotch whiskey should thaw me from the inside, so I'll be giving that remedy a bit of a run just to make sure.
