Time to toss the coin again!!!
Today's dilemma, that needed to be resolved by a toss of a coin, was wether to head down to Kissimmee (Florida) or shoot across the State to Cape Canaveral (Florida) to visit the Kennedy Space Center. The reasoning was that I don't want to be stuck in big crowds on cattle tours.
Tails won and so did SunPass, Florida's Tool road system. The toll roads is one of the first things you notice while driving around Florida and with this mob, they seem to use the "taxi" rule for setting their charges. By that I mean that they are charging you at every stop. It cost me nearly $10.00 to go 30 miles.
This brings me to a pet peeve. The government build roads with our tax payers dollars and then either sets tolls on them under the guise of "paying that money back" or for "maintenance" or they contract a private entity to "manage" that asset for them on a user pays agreement. Why??? Us taxpayers have already paid for the damn thing.
OK, I'm off my soapbox now.
The first thing that you notice when entering the Kennedy Space Center, is kust how large a complex it actually is. The amount of land the site takes up, the buildings, the launching pads – it's something you need to experience for yourself.
Dash & Christine were kind enough to sling me a week in their timeshare at Fantasy World Resort in Kissimmee. For those scratching their heads thinking "Kissimmee??? Where???" It's located in Central Florida about which is 19 miles (30 kilometres) South of Orlando and 229 miles (369 kilometres) Northwest of Miami.
We'll see what's out there tomorrow.
