Sunday September 24th, 2006
TODAYS MILEAGE – 1461 miles or 2351 kilometres
TRIP MILEAGE – 13279 miles or 21370 kilometres
Time to jump on the big tin crow!!!
Whomever said travelling was fun didn't get to bed at 1AM and was up at 4:37AM in order to catch a 7:20AM flight.
I can't praise enough the generous hospitality extended by Ian & Jax for the entire week I just spent in Boise, at the "Sinkatinny Downs" ponderosa they have just outside Boise. Better peoples you could never hope to meet, but then again, where in my circle of mates would you ever find a wanker??? Simply never going to happen!!!
Ian was feeling a bit crook this morning, from the wog he'd been fighting all week, so Jax was unlucky victim who was generous and gracious enough to drive me the 30 miles to the airport at 6 o'clock in the morning.
Fair dinkum, it was a bit Pearl Harbor this morning (as in there was a Nip in the air i.e. chilly and cold) and if I had someone warming the swag with me, wild horses wouldn't have dragged me out of the fart sack to get on a plane that early, let alone take a mate to the airport at sparrows fart!!! Good onya Jax, go you good thing you!!!
I flew into Austin (Texas), you're all going AGAIN, but I'm only in town long enough to pick up my Trailblazer, say G'day to Dash & Christine and head to New Orleans (Louisiana) for a few days. Well, that was at least the plan.
As with anything mechanical on this trip, there's bound to be dramas. Two weeks ago I went back to Champion Toyota for them to do some re-work on the repairs they did, on the front end damage, from towing the vehicle, namely a wheel alignment and the replacing of the window trim that they damaged while buffing the vehicle.
I was assured that the parts were ordered 2 weeks ago and it would be a simple matter of dropping the vehicle off on Tuesday (Oct 19th) and it would be ready to be picked up by Friday (Oct 22nd) as I needed it to travel to New Orleans (Louisiana) when I flew in today. Dash and Chris gets a call yesterday saying the car was ready to be picked up before 4PM Saturday, so they went down at 2PM and the joint was locked up with my keys in the office of the collision center and there was no way to contact them to get the keys.
I get in today with my spare set of keys only to find that Champion Toyota isn't open for business on Sundays and they lock the entire car yard is locked up so I can't get my vehicle out. Yeah, I'm as mad as a cut snake as this mob are a pack of wankers who couldn't organize a piss up in a brewery. Fuck me dead if I'm lying, but they'd manage to fuck up a wet dream!!! Pardon the French, but I'm cranky as.
Anyways, no need to get cranky as there is nothing I can do today other than park up with a couple of sherbets with Dash and watch the Sunday gay bar loitering they call NFL football on the boob tube.
