Where does the time go? Be Happy

I'm having a wonderful time doing absolutely naff all and could really get used to it if finances permitted it on a full time basis. Be Happy I reckon that these last couple of days of veging out here in Dallas (Texas) has done wonders for reducing the stress factor in me. Some of you are saying "how stressed can you be floating around the countryside".

As you can appreciate, there's no way that playing Tommy Tourist over the past 6 weeks should induce any form of stress at all. If the truth be known, it's been all the driving to and fro that gets the clacker valve going. I can well imagine how helpless Lancaster or Liberator bomber pilots felt during the Second World War with ME109 or Zero fighters swarming all around them.

By and large the professional truck drivers have been simply that - professional, with the exception of two so far. All the dramas have come from people in cars who think that seeing as they pay all their taxes, then they should have all the road.

Here's a list of "Best & Worst" so far:

Worst Road(s): Take a pick of any of the ones in Michigan.
Best Road(s): I30 West from Texarkana (Arkansas) to Greenville (Texas).
Driest Road(s): I90 East from Rapid City (South Dakota) to Sioux Falls (South Dakota).
Greenest Road(s): I65 South from Columbus (Ohio) to Bowling Green (Kentucky).
Worst Place to Have No AC: Anywhere in Kentucky as it's so bloody humid.
Best Place to Have No AC: Glacier National Park (Montana).
Worst Drivers: Mississippi as they do 35 MPH in the fast lane on a 65 MPH freeway.
Best Drivers: Castlegar (British Columbia, Canada).
Rudest Drivers: Dallas (Texas) as they all seem to think it's their right to be in front of everyone.
Politest Drivers: Green Bay (Wisconsin) as the size of the RV never fazed them.
Busiest Road(s): I55 West around Memphis (Tennessee) as I must have seen 5000 truck all playing bumper cars trying to get in and around the city. Pretty hairy actually.
Quietest Road(s): US14 in and out of Devils Tower National Monument as I think I only saw 4 cars for the entire 67 miles.
Worst Moment On The Road(s): Losing my brakes -twice.
Best Moment On The Road(s): Having the ability to simply toss a coin to chose where I'm headed for the day.

That's about it for now.

Enjoy your weekends.
