The Fitz
Sad to say, about two years after I visited the pub of my namesake "The Fitz", the owners Kingsgate Hotel closed the doors on the bar that was the haunt of many a uni student and dive bar connoisseur. Apparantly running a bar is not the hotels core business - go figure.
As reported in the local media, on the night of last drinks, there were some strict rules being enforced which included the following:
NO drinking with your right hand
NO kissing
NO throwing up
NO getting naked (at least until before 10PM anyway)
NO urinating in a public area
and absolutely NO dancing.
