Ferry Bridge - Waiau River
Just south of Hanmer Springs, at the junction of the Hanmer and Waiau rivers, we stopped to take in the scenery around the Waiau Ferry Bridge, which opened in 1887.
Apparently it replaced an earlier bridge sent plummeting into the Waiau during the "Nor' West Gale" in 1874.
