Manatee Springs State Park is one of Florida’s largest fresh water springs, averaging 117 million gallons (443 million litres) of water daily.
The spring is 25 feet (4.5 metres) deep, which feeds a pool about 75 feet (23 metres) across. The spring and cave are popular for swimming, snorkeling, and scuba diving. Over 26,000 feet (7.9 kilometres) of cave passageways have been mapped, making it one of the longest systems in North America.
