The "Taco's & Toucan's" Trip
Exploring The City
Friday March 29th, 2019
I left the hotel before sunrise and headed over to Zona Rosa "Pink Zone" to stroll down the pedestrian thoroughfare - Calle Génova. As luck would have it, I found a local 'Cholera cart' dispensing awesome looking Torta's and milky coffee. What caught my eye were the Green Chile Tamales, which I must say are a delicious rib-sticking and hearty breakfast - it does really fill you up.
After concluding my full day Mexico City Super Saver: Coyoacán, Frida Kahlo Museum, Xochimilco & National University trip, I was dropped off back in the general vicinity of where I started the day, so I decided to go with the flow and follow the Friday knock-off-time masses back on to Calle Génova for a feed and a cerveza or three.
Dinner was a half decent beef burrito and a pint of Tecate at the busy & bustling La Chelestial, which could be best described as Mexican pub grub - neither good nor bad, but 'filling the hole' adequately.
