Exploring The City
Thursday March 28th, 2019
My first full day in Mexcio City began way before sun up with a stroll around the city's Zócalo, also known as the Plaza de la Constitución and the surrounding Centro Historico areas.
Around 9AM I met up with a local guide from Interpids’ Urban Adventure team for the ½ day Mexico City Original Markets & Street Food Tour which took us to places like the Abelardo L. Rodriguez Market, Mercado de Sonora, El Mercado de Jamaica, before partaking in a lunch consisting of the local dish Huarache, across the road at Huaraches Ramoncita.
I spent the afternoon just wandering around the city taking in all the sounds, smells and sights of what essentially is a vibrant & bustling city.
Dinner tonight consisted of an Aussie, in Mexico, eating at an Italian joint - Trattoria Isabella, sipping on Bohemia Pilsner cervezas with 70's funk & soul on the stereo ..... interesting combination to say the least, but I had fun with goin' with the flow and enjoyed a delicious well cooked meal.
