COYOACÁN

The "Taco's & Toucan's" Trip

Exploring The Neighborhood

Friday March 29th, 2019

The municipality of Coyoacán "(place of coyotes - from the Nahuatl language)" dates back to the early 15th century and contain some of the oldest Spanish buildings still standing in Mexico.

While most visitors to the neighbourhood are drawn by the Museo Frida Kahlo (Frida Kahlo Museum), you can also take in Museo Casa de León Trotsky (Leon Trotsky House Museum), Museo Diego Rivera Anahuacalli (Anahuacalli Museum), the murals of David Alfaro Siqueiros on the Rectoría de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (Rectory building of UNAM) and the Iglesia de San Juan Bautista (San Juan Bautista Catholic Church) to name a few.

As luck would have it, it was here that I came across my very first automated pay-per-use toilet paper dispenser. But be warned, you only receive 4 'poo tickets' for your 10 Pesos (76 cents AUD), so use them wisely. Be Happy
