Lahdim Square
Saturday December 31st, 2016
Lahdim Square is the largest squares within the Imperial City of Meknes and reputably one of the most important archaeological sites in the Ismailia capital city. Its location near the Bab Mansour el-Aleuj made it both a meeting place for visitors and a symbol of the national struggle.
According to some historical sources, the name Lahdim (demolition) references back to the era of Sultan Al-moula Ismail, who prepared his armies here before undertaking military campaigns against his opponents or foreign occupiers.
