Saturday December 31st, 2016
Depending on which guide or local you speak to, Bassin Souani or Sahrij Swani was built as either (a) Moulay Ismail to provide water for the Imperial City, (b) built by the king as a wedding present for his new French wife, (c) a present from the King to his wife that wanted to visit the sea when she was pregnant, but he thought it wasn't good for her to travel (d) built by the king to water his army's 12,000 horses at the adjacent royal stables or (e) all of the above.
