Greeting and Salutations Culture Vultures,

My wordy lordy me, it's been a bit hot in the water bag of late. We've hit the big 40c a few times over the last couple of weeks. Never fear, this Aussie's sharper than the average bowling ball. I just moved my beer form it normal winter resting place (the oven) and put them in the fridge. ;-)
Not much on the go at the moment. By the time you've read this, I would have been on the Payette river for the annual "Phat Bastard River Float". I started the social rafting trip last year for the crew I work with and we're going back for round two. God knows why, we nearly lost one of the guys last year when he fell out of the rubber ducky. But hey, what the heck, I had a ball and that's the main thing.
A few have you have commented about the bushfires that have been going on of late. Most of the "Pacific Northwest" is on fire, but most of it is in the back of Woop Woop. So I don't think it's any big deal as nature is just doing it's thing.
Today's photos are from Martha's Vineyard which is just off the East Coast of America. While it was a lot of fun playing "what ifs" when looking some of the huge houses protected by 10 foot high fences, security cameras and 30 mile log driveways, my champagne tastes and beer budget holds me restricts me somewhat from indulging. Hey who knows, I'm only 6 numbers away from that kind of lifestyle. ;-)

Hope to hear from you soon.

Stay Happy ;-)

Fitzy

Martha's Vineyard lies five miles off the Massachusetts Coast. You can catch the ferry from Woods Hole and it takes about an hour for the journey to port of Vineyard Haven

The island is famous for these "Gingerbread" cottages in the town of Oak Bluffs, which are basically summer residences for the "rich & stupid".

This gorgeous house was being used as an apartment complex. What a waste.

Twenty miles wide and ten miles north to south, it has an area of about one hundred square miles.

More of the cottages that are prominent on the islands biggest town, Oak Bluffs.

From Oak Bluffs it was off to Edgartown, through West Tisbury and on to the natural beauty of Gay Head and it's lighthouse.

It doesn't show, but jeez it was cold and blowing a gale.

You can't be in Martha's Vineyard without a huge house and boat.

It was a gorgeous day once it heated up a little.

We departed from Oak Bluffs and headed back across the pond to Woods Hole.
