QUEENSTOWN (Otago, NZL) to TE ANAU (Southland, NZL)

TODAYS MILEAGE – 174 miles or 280 kilometres
TRIP MILEAGE – 4,669 miles or 7,514 kilometres
Due to the opening of duck hunting season, there were no accommodations in Invercargill to be had for love or money. Just so happens that a couple of the group wanted to check out Te Anau again, so we jumped on the laptop and settled on an Air B&B located at 36 Govan Drive instead.
While grabbing a bite to eat at Sandfly Cafe, we managed to run into Roscoe & Marie as well as Lynlee & Chuck ..... and being the social extroverts that we are, we invited them over for a slap-up roast dinner with all the trimmings.
A couple of us headed out to Eglington Valley, about 50 k’s (30 miles) away, to try and capture a ½ decent sunset, but time wasn't going to be our friend today, we got there with not a lot of golden hour lighting. No matter, it was a great drive anyways.
