Cusco is a city in south eastern Peru, with a population of approximately 435,000 inhabitants.
One thing that you immediately notice, when coming from sea level at Lima and stepping off the plane, is that you are short of breath and it feels like you’ve been horse kicked in the chest. This has everything to do with the city’s elevation of around 3,400 metres (11,200 feet).
Slow and steady was how the day was going to be handled.
