If we could have flown direct from Sydney to Lima, we could have shaved off over a thousand miles and saved ourselves nearly 8 hours in waiting at various airports. But as the saying goes, sometimes its the journey and not the destination that gets your attention.
With this trip, it looks as if I started a trend with the trolley dollys smashing thier carts into my shoulders, when wheeling them down the aisle. I had to refrain from commenting about "women drivers - no survivors" for fear of being punted off the plane.
After nearly a day in the air, we arrived at Lima's Aeropuerto Internacional Jorge Chávez to what virgin travellers would have termed "chaos & madness". Not a big deal for seasoned travellers though ... and as a bonus, we hadn't lost anyone or any luggage ... yet.
As it was only 11 miles to our hotel in Miraflores, the San Agustin Exclusive, I seriously thought the tour guide was having a lend of us when he mentioned that the short trip would take 45 minutes. He was wrong - it actually took an hour and a quarter, as one of the Dingoes needed to water a fence post, which added another 15 minutes to us being stuck in Peruvian peak hour traffic.
Not naming any names though ..... Putana. 
The day ended on a great note at the Barcelona 360 Tapas Restobar, just up the road from our hotel. Macca an I split an awsome Paella, while we just had to sample the offerings from the in-house Gin Bar with Vicki Mac and Shazza.
