Listed on the UNESCO Work Heritage List, the Hiroshima Peace Memorial (Genbaku Dome) was the only structure left standing in the area where the first atomic bomb exploded on 6 August 1945.
As if adding to the solemness of the occasion, the sky’s darkened and clouded over, the wind picked up and it became eerily quiet, as I was taking the photos of the Dome.
