Greetings & Salutations.
A good mate of mine "Jungle" been chatting on a regular basis and he mentioned that he was looking at taking some time off, to get his annual leave amount squared away with his emmployer. Seeing as it was a "Golden Oldies Rugby Festival" year, and the fact that he and his better half Yvonne hadn't been down this side of the equator, we made plans for the pair of them to come visit.
With a few phone calls and a couple of chats with my travel agent Amy, we mapped out that Jungle would fly in and meet at home in Townsville, Queensland, Australia. We'd then pile into my ute and take about ten days to get down to Sydney, where I had to work at my employers National Headquarters for three days. We'd then drive across town and meet up with the Alice Springs Dingoes before collecting Yvonne and then participating in the 18th World Golden Oldies Rugby Festival over the best part of the week.
From Sydney, Yvonne, Jungle and myself would take five days to drive over to Smoky Bay, in the Great Australian Bight and then to the opposite end of the country - to the Gulf Of Carpentaria.
The final week of the 6 week road trip would be spent in tropical Far North Queensland, before culminating back out my home in Townsville.
Sounds complicated??? Not Really as the only hard target dates are related to working in and playing rugby in Sydney - we're making the rest of it up as we go along ..... what could possibly go wrong???
