With a 3 hour and 15 minute layover, you don’t have a lot of choices in what to do and see in Singapore other that Duty Free shopping, of which I’ve never really embraced.

So why not give you a few facts on the city and the huge airport.

It’s officially known as the Republic of Singapore (but we all know it simply as Singapore) is an island country located 85 miles (137 kilometres) north of the equator, at the southern tip of the Malay Peninsula.

At 273 square miles (707 square kilometres), Singapore (population 5 million) is one of four remaining true city-states in the world and became an independent republic on 9 August 1965. It is also the smallest nation in Southeast Asia.

Changi Airport is located on a site of measuring 5 square miles (13 square kilometres) and about 11 miles (17kilometres) north-east from the centre of Singapore.

Every week, 4,340 flights are operated by 80 airlines to over 116 cities in 59 countries and employs nearly 13,000 people Last year 36,701,556 passengers used the airport making it the 19th busiest airport in the world and the fifth busiest in Asia, by passenger traffic. Changi is also one of the busiest cargo airports in the world, handling over 1.89 million tonnes of cargo in 2007.

Wanna know which are the busiest aiports in the world?? Check this link out – Worlds Busiest Airports and you may be suprised at the results.

OK, we all clued up yet??? Now, it’s back on the tin crow to Philthy and Jodi’s place for a surprise visit.

I changed my flight back to coincide my my good mates 50th birthday/ I've known Philthy for over 20 years and thought I'd just drop in for a giggle and to give him a unique birthday present.

At about this time, I could sleep on a barbed wire fence, but there's more to go:
