La Nouvelle-Orléans (New Orleans) was founded May 7, 1718 and has a population of around 1.2 million. The city is known for it eclectic mix of creole, voodoo, cajun, interesting history and architecture, Dixieland jazz, poboys, Mardi Gras, Fat Tuesday and partying.

I lobbed into "Naw-lens" just 13 months after Hurricane Katrina ripped the town apart on August 23rd, 2005. You could see most of the devestation surronding the city, but a huge effort was made to get the French Quarter up and running, to bring in the much needed tourtist revenue in order to kick start the economy, in helping to rebuild not only the city, but also the lives of the locals.
