The best thing about parking at a grocery stores delivery dock ..... you're guaranteed an early start. Be Happy

The plan was to strike out West, from Salt Lake City (Utah) to Bonneville Salt Flats (Utah) on the Utah/Nevada border, early enough to miss the morning peak hour traffic.

I woke about 4:30AM to the sounds of the bread man and the shit carter banging and crashing, fired up the gen set and got the billy on the boil for a cup of Milo. It was a bit nipply outside so I thought that I'd wonder inside the Walmart to purchase some sweats/tracky's, as I'd packed all my winter woolies and put them into storage. Every Walmart I've stopped at to date has been 24 hours, not this one. It opens at 6AM so off I trundle to the Man Pad to update the blog.

I was on the frog & toad early enough to watch the sun rising in my mirrors and the valley was waking up before me. Dawn is one those times that I truly enjoy. Many a morning was spent out bush, rolling out of my swag, sipping on coffee and watching the flames leap & dance from the fire. Even though I was barrelling down I80 at 65 miles an hour, I was thoroughly enjoy the starting of a new day.

Within an hour and a half I was surveying all that stood before me at the Bonneville Salt Flats State Park. Aside from the obvious history of that place that so many land speed records have been set, it was the rusty browns of the rugged mountains, the deep ocean blue skies with the stark blinding contrasts of the white salt flats made the visit and experience that's up there with the Grand Canyon, Ayers Rock, the Great Barrier Reef or the Greek Isles.

Words can not explain what I was going through just sitting in the middle of all this natural wonder and beauty not knowing what was going to happen over the next few days, weeks and months.

We'll have to see what tomorrow brings.
