Corpus Christi was the name given to the Texas city & surrounding bay, in the Gulf of Mexico, by Spanish explorer Alonso Álvarez de Pineda in 1519, when he discovered the lush semitropical bay on the feast day celebrating the "Body of Christ".
We did it a bit easier than young Alonso and based ourselves out of the 18th floor of the Omni Corpus Christi Hotel, which was located right on the Gulf Of Mexico.
