Remember the Alamo!!! Be Happy

Today was time for the boys to take off for a ride on our bikes. Dash was riding his bike that he sold to me and I hired a 2006 Harley Davison Road King Custom for the day. We planned on travelling down to San Antonia (Texas) to visit the Alamo before heading back. A nice easy 152 mile (245 kilometre) round trip with a spot of lunch in between.

Dash, his son Matthew and myself headed of at 9AM on a relatively quite Satuday morning traffic wise. I had my MP3 palyer hooked up and was jamming all that way with a selction on my favourite tunes.

We spent about an hour checking out The Alamo which is steeped in so much history that culminated the morning of March 6, 1836 with what can be only described as a massacre by troops led by General Antonio López de Santa Anna's Mexican troops. The site has now come to symbloize fighting against overwhelmings odd for what you believe in.

The three of us took a wander around the Riverwalk before deciding on lunch at The Republic Of Texas resteraunt. Truth be told, it was a bit ordinary, but adequate for a touristy area.

From there is was back to Austin for a quiet evening with a couple of White Russians.

Tomorrow, I need to do something in regards to moving the Man Pad as one of the neighbors has taken photos of it and sent them to Dash's landlord complaining.

Check ya tomorrow.
