TODAYS MILEAGE – 8 miles or 13 kilometres
TRIP MILEAGE – 10668 miles or 17168 kilometres

At 9 bells we took off for the Las Vegas Convention Center to check out COMDEX, Spring 2000. For those of us into computers and such, it is the Holy Grail of expositions with literally thousands of vendors showing of their tech toys. It's a HUGE event with over several million square feet of displays. I has a ball for the couple of hours we were wondering around.

After reconfirming our flights the night before and waiting to be picked up for an hour, we rang Look Tours only to be told that we should have been waiting at 11:05 and that we'd missed the plane for that day. So much for reconfirming our flights. We ended up booking again for Saturdays flight.

So now there were the three of us in Vegas, with an afternoon to spend, without adult supervision, What to do ..... hmmm.

The first thing was to get some lunch at the Mirage buffet (there's Jimmy again) and as an aperitif with lunch, the three of us decided the tipple of choice was to be White Russians. Do you see a pattern in our drinking here yet???

At lunch and after much deliberation and with not a whole lot of argument, it was decided to undertake a "Las Vegas White Russian Pub Crawl" beginning at The Venetian across the road from the Mirage at 2 PM and continuing at every bar we can find on the way to the MGM Grand, at the bottom of the Strip. This unselfish act was only conducted in the sole focus of scientific research in regards to balance and equilibrium upon the human body as well as osteoporosis prevention.

The conclusion of the study tour for that day was that O'Sheas Casino had the cheapest at $2.25 a piece if you didn't mind plastic cups. The best ones were to be had at West & Strodensky's (at least that's what I think they called it) near the Polo Towers. The Paris was not good value but the Flamingo Hilton was the rip-off establishment of the tour at $8.85 per drink.

We finally got to the MGM Grand around 11 PM a little worse for wear, but we did it. Never let it be said that we will not try everything within our powers to complete our missions of scientific endeavor. From there Dash & I grabbed a left jab back to the Mirage to snore our boxes off - not sure where Fluxy ended up as we lost hime crossing the street. Be Happy
