Howdy Y'all

Firstly, thank you for sticking with us all the way through this "antiquing" exploration within a road trip holiday. You’re either very interested in what we’re up to, or very bored – but thanks none the less.

When I set off on this trip, I had a few jitters about me spending the best part of three weeks being dragged kicking and screaming through every antique/brick-a-brack/op shop throughout the New England states. Nothing could have been further from the truth.

Ruth and I seemed to have had our respective radars going, in which we knew just seemed to know or sense just how much each other could handle the activities we may have not respectively been interested in.

We did manage to cover a fair amount in a short amount of time, with both of us happy being either the Navigator (Ruth) or the Pilot (myself). I think we both came away with a new appreciation for the history, architecture, scenery and just how diverse the U.S. actually is.

If you’re ever in the New England area, do yourself a favour and get off the freeways and explore some of the back roads, stop at some B&B’s, chat with the locals and take your time – it’s what made this particular trip memorable.
