The Otahu Flat School lies about about 85 k’s (50 miles) northwest of Invercargill and my research shows that it operated a single room school from 1913 to around 1947.
What initially drew my eye to the building was the striking contrast of the cream coloured walls and red roof against lush green pastures and black rolling clouds of the incoming rain.
