Touted as the "Opal Capital of the World", I'd have to say that the best thing out of Coober Pedy ... would have to be the Sturt Highway.
We stopped for a quick visit at the Umoona Opal Mine in order to give Jungle & Yvonne a taste of underground mining and both came away thinking it's a hard way of living.
